How Is Music Important To A Film?

The music almost makes you want to watch the film time and time again and is certainly true when it comes to movies like Star Wars. What makes a great music score and why? Music is becoming more and more important as the film industry grows and it seems to be that it adds a lot of power to the movies.

What Is It That Makes Fantasic Movie Music?

Effects How You See The Film

Another thing that makes the soundtrack a great one is if it effects the way you see the film when you are watching it. The recent blockbuster smash hit Avatar is a prime example where the music was perfect, partly why it is up for an Oscar. Although it isn’t the music that made the film, it certainly helped bring that realism to it when being watched in 3D.

Emotions

Another important thing is emotion and this is incredibly important when it comes to writing the music. If you are listening to a piece of music and it has made you feel something then it has worked, there is no doubt that. The movie masters are always looking out for music that can do this to the audience, it adds that bit extra to it all.

Instruments

You cannot have a wild set of Drum Kits playing during a romantic film, this would just not work at all. One of the most important things to know is that you must have the right instruments for the film, this is key. A guitar solo in the middle of an action scene from an awesome Guitars player is going to get a reaction. Put that into a slow film and it just isn’t going to work and could result in a negative reaction from the audience.

So the next time you are watching a film, make sure you listen out for the fantastic music that comes with it. Although you will not often hear DJ Equipment you will agree that without music a film would not be the same.
