Awesome Hank
One of the most tedious jobs for any online marketer who relies on organic search engine traffic is backlinking. The more high quality backlinks you get the better you ranking and the more traffic will follow. However, this is easier said than done! Sure, there are tools that help. In fact, I subscribe to several. But, these are expensive and there is no substitute for genuine hard work and doing something properly.
Anyway, the biggest problem that I find is finding sites to place my backlinks on. So many sites are “no follow” which are about as helpful to your search engine rankings as an umbrella when you are at the bottom of the ocean! Other sites are “do follow” and there is scope for adding a link (normally in the form of a comment). However, your site link is anchored to your name so it’s not particularly good for building up anchored keyword links. The final problem (that I find anyway) is that many site owners aren’t that keen or bothered about people adding comments – you waste a lot of time writing a long and constructive comment only for it not to get approved.
Anyway, I have stumbled across a great method that works really well and overcomes a lot of the problems highlighted above in terms of finding backlinking opportunities and getting them approved. And I’m going to tell you!
It’s all based around a Wordpress plugin called Keywordluv. The whole purpose of the plugin is for blog owners to install onto their blogs to encourage people to interact and comment. They get a comment and improve the content of their blog (number of comments on a blog are believed to influence search engine rankings) and in return the commenter gets a backlink anchored to their chosen keyword. Say I was leaving a comment. In the name field I would enter “Danny@make money online” and then enter my URL in the normal way with my email address and comment. The resulting post wold state “Danny from make money online” with the URL anchored to the “make money online” bit.
So, what’s so great about this? Well, not only do you get some great anchored links, there are many sites publishing lists of blogs with the Keywordluv plugin installed (just do a Google search) so they are very easy to find. The other thing is that you can do a simple Google search for “keywordluv [keyword]” to bring up a whole host of sites with content relevant to your keyword that have the plugin installed for you to add your comments. And, these blog owners are keen on people commenting and are therefore very likely to approve your comment!
Another possibility if you are a Wordpress blogger is to install the Keywordluv plugin on your own site (it’s free!). You can then find other site owners publishing lists of Keywordluv sites and ask them to add your site to their list. More free backlinks!
This a great method which really works! Happy backlinking!
